Castin’ ‘n Catchin’ has raised over $300,000 for the Pediatric & Congenital Heart Center at Children’s of Alabama in just two years. More amazing than this accomplishment are the four families that got together to make this a reality. Drew and Jodie McNutt, Lee and Jessica Bradford, Jason and Lacey Simpson and Heather and Justin Stroud all had baby boys who were born with Congenital Heart Defects. They decided that they wanted to do something to further the research for CHD for future children. Fishing being a passion of several on the committee, it became a natural fit to host a fishing tournament. Castin’ ‘n Catchin’ started in 2016 as professionally run tournament. The first year’s event had 185 fishermen. With the help from the community, the committee has pledged to make this an annual event.
