Our family kindly requests your assistance in raising money for our local children's hospital, Children's of Alabama. One out of every one-hundred babies is born with a congenital heart defect (CHD). Of those babies born with a CHD, approximately 25% require surgical intervention within the first year of their life. Our son, Will, was born with a very serious CHD known as hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). He has had two successful open-heart surgeries at Children's during his first year of life, and will face a third surgery around age three. Without surgical intervention, our son's condition would not have been survivable.
We are truly blessed to live in an area where our children can receive high-quality medical care without the need to travel great distances for specialized treatments. The talented doctors, nurses, and staff at Children's of Alabama have been there for our son from his very first breath. They have also been there for so many other families in our area. As a non-profit organization, the hospital relies heavily on donations to ensure that the best quality medical care is provided to the children of our area. Our family is forever indebted to all of those who have donated to Children's in years past so that our son could receive the specialized care he needed. We're asking for your support in helping us raise money for the next child that needs treatment for a CHD.
Please consider making a donation to Children's Pediatric & Congenital Heart Center as part of this campaign to raise money during Heart Month. Even a small amount can help us reach our goal of raising $2500 for the CV Unit.
Thank you for your support!
